Our 4-step online marketing strategic plan is real simple. It’s hard to implement if you don’t have direction, but it’s a simple concept. Here it is in a nutshell.
- Take inventory. What do you have to offer? Identify your strengths and weaknesses and make a list of your core products and services. We’ll come back to this later.
- Identify your target audience. Who do you want to serve? Who are you capable of serving?
- Know your competition. Make a list of who they are, what they do, and how they do it. Then create your own Unique Selling Proposition to set yourself apart.
- Make a plan and stick with it.
This is the trimmed down version, of course. But if you are serious about marketing online, then you have to be serious enough to take the proper steps to get you to your goals. Know your company and what it is capable of, know the competition and what they do well, and know your audience. Those are the three things you must commit yourself to knowing. Then, do the right research and create your plan. It should include a succinct, concise USP. How do you stand out from the crowd? That USP defines who you are. Don’t take any shortcuts.
