Leave it to Marketing Pilgrim to think outside of the Twox (Twitter box). In this case, I think they’ve got the right idea.
The right idea is to manage your Twitter account YOUR WAY.
I’m with Jennita when she says:
These days it seems like every time we turn around someone is telling us how to manage our Twitter account(s).
To be honest, I’ve done it too. I’ve suggested that you retweet the tweets that you like and that you engage with your followers. But you don’t have to. Those are only suggestions. There are so-called Twitter gurus out there who would have you believe that there is only one right way to manage your Twitter account. Don’t listen to them.
While I have offered my suggestions, I hope you don’t walk away with the impression that I believe there is only one way to work Twitter. There isn’t. The best way is to do it your way.
Jennita also says this:
With social becoming an essential piece to an overal marketing strategy and specifically beneficial for SEO, it’s definitely important to think about what you’re tweeting. But don’t confine yourself to a little box.
The bottom line is, it’s your business. It’s your Twitter account. It should have your personality.
If you are missing out on the Twitter experience because you’re afraid that you’ll do it wrong, don’t worry about it. Chances are, you won’t do it wrong. Just remember to test everything and stick with what works.
