Google has added a useful feature to its search results pages: Page preview.
This is a useful feature and I like it. You can preview a page before you visit it by clicking “Show options” then on “Page previews” on the left sidebar of the page. The screenshot is small, but it does give you a good idea of what the layout of a page looks like before you visit that page. A useful feature.
On the other hand, you don’t get to preview the whole page. You only see a partial page, so it’s not completely useful.
But Google wasn’t the first search engine to introduce screenshots of websites as page previews. Bing launched with that technology earlier this year and a French search engine introduced this back in 2003.
Still, first or not, I like it and I think it’s a tool that small businesses can use for better marketing. Design your website well.
