Her entrepreneurial spirit, however, was cultivated at a young age when she joined her father’s ice business at the age of 6; she knew then that she would run her own company one day. She escaped from corporate America in 2005 with the dream of leveraging her “Blue Chip” expertise to help growing businesses thrive; Small Business Mavericks is that dream realized.
Her expertise includes: strategic marketing planning, brand strategy and development, direct mail and direct response advertising, business-to-business and business-to-consumer marketing, web design and development, Internet marketing strategy, search engine optimization, e-mail marketing, blogging and social media/Web. 2.0 strategy and tactics.
She is the author of the e-book series entitled, “Local Small Business Internet Marketing Secrets” and the award-winning newsletter, “Small Business Maverick Internet Marketing Secrets.” She’s been quoted in numerous national publications including The Wall Street Journal and BusinessWeek, she’s appeared to more than 9 million homes on the Comcast program Money Matters Today and her published articles have appeared in Minnesota Business Magazine, Minneapolis St. Paul Business Journal, Small Business Owner, WomensBiz, The Los Angeles Times and numerous online publications as well.
She is a member of the Board of Directors for the American Association of Micro Business, the winner of the National Association of Women Business Owner’s “Woman on the Way” Award for 2008 and finalist for the TwinWest Chamber of Commerce 2007 Emerging Entrepreneur of the Year Award.
Personally, Caroline is an avid reader, and enjoys time with family, travel, boating, fishing and outdoor photography.
Steve Melberg, Co-Founder and Chief Operations Officer Steve has over 20 years of experience in sales and marketing working within a variety of industries for companies including Interstate Bakeries Corporation, McCaw Communications/Cellular One and Leaf Brothers. Previous to these roles, he worked as Facilities Manager for the University of Minnesota.

Steve’s expertise is in developing repeatable processes and systems, supplier relations, business management, purchasing, financial and accounting management, and affiliate and partner marketing programs. He is a graduate of the University of Minnesota where he achieved a Bachelor of Individualized Studies degree.
He enjoys just about anything on the water, and his hobbies include collecting wine, travel, fishing, outdoor photography and boating. He is currently putting the finishing touches on his first wooden boat building project, the Jolly Mon II.
